    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
& _' `! v& c  u; U$ Y9 ?: p    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand ! q! O! m6 C% _6 F: I  ^; x
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters
% n' k" `! E' }: l, o7 u7 O    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent 7 w: \7 N$ I4 i4 p6 ?
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
& }) M* S  O9 q: J    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the , s& S, X* [! _6 j# f
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement ) W! g3 [! }% ^6 Q* g
    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
