One man has died and another has been injured following a shooting in the centre of Manchester.
Officers were called to the Victoria Park area of the city at around 1850 BST on Friday evening, where they found the two men.
Both men - in their early twenties - were taken to hospital following the incident in Anson Road, but one of the victims later died.
Police said the other man's condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
Several roads surrounding the area were cordoned off following the shooting, including Anson Road.
Detectives were at the scene shortly afterwards and a search of the area is being carried out.

A man killed in a drive-by shooting in Manchester city centre has been formally identified by police.
Ucal Chin, 24, of Frobisher Close in Chorlton-on-Medlock was driving a red Renault Megane along Anson Road when shots were fired into the car.
Mr Chin was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead. His 21-year-old passenger suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.
Police have found a third man from the car who left the scene of the shooting.
The incident happened at 1850 BST on Friday.
Officers are continuing to appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of a light-coloured, possibly silver, saloon car which police believe carried the attackers.
