We know that some students have been refused their Tier 1 – Post Study4 z5 H- D, j4 W% g2 }0 d
Work visas because the Home office has not accepted the confirmation
~& Z4 H1 M& d m, yof award letter issued by the Student Services Centre as proof of the- w& z: r1 N% V
student's award. We wrote to the Home Office about this issue and they8 o$ j6 E$ T% P$ ^+ p4 A) \
have now confirmed that our confirmation of award letter (the version
+ {( x" n) M4 [+ G* F3 o2 t' ?issued in or after November) is sufficient proof that a student has3 I. _+ x9 o; t/ [, U: [
been awarded their degree. They have also agreed to reconsider& ]" ^+ _6 G/ z) L4 @, U
students' applications which were refused on this basis.

4 J( O3 M; w; ~ [2 Q) HIf you have had your Tier 1 – Post Study Work application solely( I' \3 f0 V" X7 u
refused because the Home Office did not accept the validity of the7 t( U. s9 j/ D& r
confirmation of award letter issued by us then you need to come to the8 f) L- U3 c+ H
Student Services Centre to speak to a member of the International0 i( ]/ H" g5 T4 ~, a
Advice Team. You also need to bring in your refusal notice and the
4 N$ O) [; s% \7 K6 fconfirmation of award letter that you submitted as part of your/ ^7 d& R- S: V/ i4 f% e
original application. In order to do this you must ring us on 0161 275
