    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
9 T2 t: i8 l/ N) v3 t1 X4 N* o4 ]( t    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand ( z8 c% U9 r. q, I- N: K& @: T
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters 3 `1 e: c$ B) q* `
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent ) ]1 M0 o! d6 q
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a / E9 @2 `- _1 p3 {4 b& C
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
2 w; v  y" \% t  x8 x! H3 D, O7 U) i    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement 0 a/ ]1 J) B' b. e4 ~' G" c
    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
