    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
1 Z9 M9 Q8 p3 T6 V* e: r+ |    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
4 I( Y5 r! u" E; u/ [0 f7 n' ]    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand
7 c' X+ m4 b6 y2 ^2 H! D    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters
4 t( w* |- W( g( R    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
5 a4 }, u  M4 g1 x9 R7 n    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a 0 |+ D+ e/ M2 P! u; j
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
/ ^1 A9 I8 a$ o, ]    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
& Z$ ]2 w2 A; a    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
