    The firm is running a Summer Placement Scheme for a limited ; _0 O! C1 f* j6 s/ g
    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is   J6 V) c4 t" R/ l$ y- u
    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney * \3 i6 ^3 q7 m/ {( s( F
    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand ' `  T+ |( Z% I" h. r
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters ) p: D* i" J1 x
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
7 [! j) W, n1 e+ g    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
% D3 n! {0 R7 G6 q    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the ( M8 n; Y8 H, c; n) ]" `
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement 4 I4 b9 q+ o3 {# \6 U% O* V( \
    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
