We know that some students have been refused their Tier 1 – Post Study4 x0 P1 T H$ J, v$ J1 P
Work visas because the Home office has not accepted the confirmation
6 s2 m/ F, R' O+ z! A0 wof award letter issued by the Student Services Centre as proof of the2 q3 J" Z; S& C5 ?: _5 F
student's award. We wrote to the Home Office about this issue and they& l3 I2 m) j- N. H" f
have now confirmed that our confirmation of award letter (the version
* s5 _. Z3 o! p+ H# ^4 ?, n- R( \issued in or after November) is sufficient proof that a student has7 R' W5 b* }2 y, y( @
been awarded their degree. They have also agreed to reconsider" d' ]" ?/ Y q \
students' applications which were refused on this basis.

If you have had your Tier 1 – Post Study Work application solely
( M# J G5 U: [+ brefused because the Home Office did not accept the validity of the0 m- v- d# O/ W. y' ]) M
confirmation of award letter issued by us then you need to come to the
6 i7 H& C* E- |# j; X4 N+ kStudent Services Centre to speak to a member of the International1 o; [ [/ l! D
Advice Team. You also need to bring in your refusal notice and the0 R+ j9 T3 |4 h2 q& K
confirmation of award letter that you submitted as part of your6 c/ S4 \1 T6 C" R) H
original application. In order to do this you must ring us on 0161 2757 S- M4 z+ `9 y" `6 F- [' o
5000 (Option 1) to make an appointment to see a member of the. I# u3 G* L# c
