In order to maximize the use of the Chinese books, Huaxia Chinese School plans to provide a mobile library service for pupils. To ensure the smooth running of the library, the School intends to recruit a library administrator. The job will start in September 2007. The wage will be round 20 pounds per week.

Job responsibilities:

Keeping the school library open for most Sundays during term time from 11am to 1pm;8 F% R  S, z  G, \" A

Helping on setting up an effective library procedure for borrowing and returning books;( x% h, r. y$ p( {" N0 ~4 ?

+ \" i4 b2 \5 n. L7 aLiaise with the Head teacher to ensure stock maintenance for weekly need, including carrying small number of books between the school and storing place every week;/ u( `" t: Y+ d# C" Q

Dealing with customer enquiries such as book reservation, renewal and other general queries relating to the library stock via email and/or on Sundays at School desk, and retrieve the requested item accordingly

$ v+ |9 b+ O! K  N6 OUndertaking limited cash handling (e.g. fines)+ x& H1 L( S5 _$ u/ y; t

6 o+ f! o; P& G6 Y8 F+ KMaintaining borrowing record and updating available book list accordingly
, Z5 T; {5 m' M% M$ E' uThe ideal candidate should

0 S$ s9 t0 b+ Ibe reliable, responsible and friendly, having attention to details
% W2 S) z* }' Zo! U$ F: j# N5 x* F& X
have ability to work under pressure and with limited or no immediate supervision;
3 r5 _, y( }9 Q/ h+ R1 X% Io0 N/ U" s$ r& T2 E$ q* B
have own transport+ }) q1 c+ g9 q
o( J* W, q- q& U5 j& _* g2 ^
be familiar with common office software such as MS Office

have Internet access and is willing to be trained for updating online book list

Previous experience of working in a customer service environment would be an advantage.
