JOB SUMMARY:
1 J  E, o- V& E  p1 s8 K( GOversees all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards. Implements lean manufacturing processes and methods to achieve cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency. Leads a team in safety, quality control, and planning. Reports to the operation manager.

3 X$ ^9 M. w$ ^/ _2 s5 x1. Assists plant personnel and management team in the development and formulation of long and short range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
+ {" y6 s* l" M( S9 L2. Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- [; R) C# |# ^' |. c3. Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.2 ?7 f  P" j" l, G5 W
4. Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
( C' ^6 |4 s/ f5 E5. Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as a liason between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.8 O1 q+ O; b) h/ i  g4 C
6. Hires, trains, develops, and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
) M/ `7 S/ }' f! K3 A+ I6 }7. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with human resources department as appropriate. ; `" a) V+ v9 F
8. Works with union representatives on union matters and implementation of the contract.
/ X6 N. a& E: g1 x1 r7 p& ~) B9. Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. ' Y' D0 B) H" }- ~$ H, @( b
10. Understands lean manufacturing concepts and initiates process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
8 V5 }* y0 K4 w, k$ C11. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
# s9 t2 x1 I1 I- a12. Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g. capital improvement, capital justification, training safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, legal compliance, etc.)
$ w# ]3 ?7 \9 j3 \13. Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g. plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)

, ~& o. K7 j: a. tJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
0 ^" Q5 ?$ [" [- b, S1. Education: Bachelor degree in industrial management or equivalent.
* H  g& i1 s0 E9 v+ i2. Experience: At least three years of experience and upper level/manufacturing manager experience preferred.
) s2 S& h6 u* X4 O! f, h" B3. Skills: Strong verbal and written communications skills. Good organizational skills and personal leadership skills required. Must have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Must be a team player, be willing to travel and be familiar with busniess systems and software programs.  U) |7 K) `1 F5 j) E3 [5 b
4. Must speak English and Mandarin Chinese fluently.' c  |6 w7 X" L
