In order to maximize the use of the Chinese books, Huaxia Chinese School plans to provide a mobile library service for pupils. To ensure the smooth running of the library, the School intends to recruit a library administrator. The job will start in September 2007. The wage will be round 20 pounds per week.

Job responsibilities:

Keeping the school library open for most Sundays during term time from 11am to 1pm;
# z6 |3 @* T  E! To: ^* D9 k* Y) O* \6 V) N' i
Helping on setting up an effective library procedure for borrowing and returning books;

+ w0 `0 H+ _8 y6 |- W5 Q# GLiaise with the Head teacher to ensure stock maintenance for weekly need, including carrying small number of books between the school and storing place every week;

Dealing with customer enquiries such as book reservation, renewal and other general queries relating to the library stock via email and/or on Sundays at School desk, and retrieve the requested item accordingly0 e, e" p5 B! R

Undertaking limited cash handling (e.g. fines)
* d* @& _; i# I5 C! t! q* p/ w% ao
) @! b, l% e1 x" O) Z3 _$ d! `Maintaining borrowing record and updating available book list accordingly9 k* j+ s, u  R3 y
The ideal candidate should% `" l2 x5 j0 r8 M

be reliable, responsible and friendly, having attention to details

have ability to work under pressure and with limited or no immediate supervision; ( o' o- [/ R* b0 G( o/ L- X( ?6 S+ @

have Internet access and is willing to be trained for updating online book list

be able to communicate in both English and Chinese# I( ]2 \2 b* T& m  i
Previous experience of working in a customer service environment would be an advantage.
